The A.B.C.'s to looking Elevated and on Brand.
We all want to look styled and express ourselves authentically.
But how do we show up on brand so that we attract the people we want to work with and surround ourselves with? The key to expressing your style and brand at the highest level is to ensure you elevate your look. There are ways to keep your style fresh and current without having to reinvent your wardrobe every season or micro season. I have identified 5 main areas that will safeguard your style, what I like to call the A.B.C.’s to looking elevated and on brand.
A.) Fit is King. When your clothes fit, you look sharper and elevated. Knowing and wearing the cuts that fit and flatter your body shape will ensure you are comfortable in your skin which will boost your confidence. A little tailoring with cuts and hemlines takes your style up and helps you look pulled together.
B.) Knowing your Personal Style. Being true to your Brand and Style is what makes you the unique snowflake that you are. If your style is a little Boho, Feminine & Flirty, a masculine power suit will not fly. Understanding who you are and how you want to present yourself will raise your authority with whomever you encounter.
C.) Keep your clothes in good condition. Nothing takes your style and command down more than clothes that are out of shape and have seen their day. Repair or re-home; sweaters that are pilling. clothes with loose threads or small holes, faded blacks and darker colors, stained and wrinkled clothing, shoes with scuff marks and worn out heels. The quality of your clothing reflects you, your style and brand.
D.) Add structure. A bit of tailoring pulls your style together and elevates your Brand. Add to your wardrobe a nice jacket or blazer with clean lines. It can be a double breasted blazer or a soft knit boyfriend jacket. Add a quality shoe and structured handbag to your look. Extra attention to adding structured pieces will definitely boost your style.
E.) Details. Lastly, pay attention to the details. In my old life we always said, “Retail is Detail”. The same is true for you and your style. Look at your finishing touches; jewelry, belts, shoes, and other accessories. Are they enhancing your look? Do they reflect your style personality? Be intentional with the details, they are what people notice.
Addressing these A.B.C.’s will help you look pulled together for any occasion. Be it in the spotlight, client facing or and evening with friends and family. We can always look our best.
Have a Styling Day!
